I'm not sure if it would have anything to do with the issue, but I do think that the battery is on its way out, I was planning on replacing it before the snow flies. Apr 19, 2010 I'm going to assume you checked the fuses, and say that the display panel will have to be replaced. Apparently reset also, but I don't know what was reste. That is pretty much widely available at aftermarket auto stores and will most likely fix the problem. I've unplugged it an plugged it back in many times, still dead.
If someone can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it. My oil pressure gauge, fuel gauge and temp gauge don't work. They don't stand by their product. Since all gauges appear to have quit at one time I would agree with a previous post that the computer program is flawed. This has been a reoccurring problem over the last 6 months. Never will I buy from you again.
Was not notified of Recall even though I had the truck in the dealer for Electrical problem of back tail light time after time. The information center scrolls continously from French to Spanish to English and the reset doesn't do anything. I've checked for voltage in the plug. It was showing 52mph,the fuzz said I was doing yes thats right 62 mph! Any additional costs, including labor to replace the instrument panel cluster, will be the responsibility of the customer. I just fixed one that was over the 7 years so the customer had to pay. Now, no smacking it around will cure it.
Don't think it has anything to do with it but that is what was happening before it went out. I checked every fuse in the truck, all ok. It is a faulty part. This is a fancy way of saying digital. I removed the fuse for inspection and it was good. A wiring Diagram would be great! Others were built as a sealed unit and cannot be taken apart. Well we been into this for quite awhile now and finally the Tach, gas, oil, batt, water, speed, heater light one side only passenger side just fkn quit.
I read somewhere that soldering a few certain points on the circuit board could fix it??? Simply unplugged the fuse, noticed it was still good, and plugged the same fuse 10A back in and all the gauges started working again. It happened on my wife's envoy and a code scan actually caught it becuase it was throwing interference for a few other lights on the dash and poped a code. It dings the whole time until it is stopped and put back in park. Claims with repair orders prior to September 28, 2007 for 2003-2004 model year vehicles, or March 23, 2009 for 2005 model year vehicles, must be submitted to the Service Contract provider. Guess it needed a reset atfer they plugged in for the emissions.
I realize that the truck is 8-9 years old, but it only has 80,000 miles on it. I've looked on the internet for help and so far have not had any luck. And i have noticed also when the cold weather hits the damn truck floods out when started. Okay, Im assuming it probably needs the cluster replaced. Tach works for awhile then stops altogether, will work when I drive the next time.
Digital Dash Solutions is the name of the place. I'll attempt to check continuity between pins and their destination, but it's awful small to look at. I will get a message like unknown driver or service 4 wheel drive. Many refer to it simply as a digital speedometer. Officer: Sir, do you know how fast you were going. They were not acting erratic before going out either. Even though the cages appear analog, they are stepper motor controlled by the computer.
A wiring Diagram would be great! The normal dinging alarm like if you open the door while moving, etc. I had not had any tests or maintenance performed. Other than the electronics being made by Delco Prince of Darkness Chevrolet makes a pretty good truck. The only thing I see is a small light at the very left bottom, one of the wires has come undone from the soldering. You never should have gotten any of my bail out money that I worked for to help save your ass and now you wont help me. The electronic mirrors wont retract.
The check engine light comes on for no reason. Thus, the dealer has to transfer the info for you and they wont do that with out it being a dealer product. Take to a local AutoZone, Advance, Murray's, O'reillys or a similar part house for them to check the wiring. When back outside after playing with the cluster and it worked!! The normal dinging alarm like if you open the door while moving, etc. Now, when it is in gear and moving it dings. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer. In some Silverados there is another fuse in the instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel.
I pulled the dic fuse and started the engine, let it run a few seconds, turned it off, reinstalled the fuse and the gauge is working like it should be. I'm not sure what pin should have what tho. This should be under warranty. I went back out ant started my truck and all gages were working. . They work and look great. They can preprogram the mileage and engine hours when you order it.
